What are the perceived abilities of someone to use their intellectual capabilities effectively?
How well a person performs a job and the variables that predict this job performance has been a primary concern for researchers since the study of humans at work began over a century ago. Over this time, one variable has consistently demonstrated an ability to predict job performance better than all others: cognitive ability. While our measure of cognitive effectiveness is not a true measure of cognitive ability, it still reveals the behaviors demonstrated by those who are viewed as cognitive effective.
