What are the leadership behaviors that make General Counsels be seen as more effective.
Our current research of General Counsel reveals 14 behaviors as good predictors of overall leadership effectiveness. Similar to other best practice research, thinking about the longer-term implications of decisions and effectively articulating ideas and expectations are strong predictors of effectiveness. Interestingly, placing less emphasis on taking action and initiative versus more emphasis, which is more commonly found, is also a predictor of effectiveness.
